Is KeepCast really free?＋
Yes. The desktop recorder is free and works fully offline — unlimited recordings, unlimited length, screenshots, the editor, zoom, teleprompter, and calendar auto-record. A paid cloud tier for backup, sharing, and AI meeting summaries comes later, but the local app stands on its own.
Where are my recordings stored?＋
On your own computer. KeepCast is local-first — recordings are saved to a folder on your machine and nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly turn on cloud backup in a future paid tier.
What platforms does KeepCast support?＋
KeepCast is a native Windows app today, built for speed with hardware-accelerated H.264 encoding. Support for other platforms may follow.
How is this different from Loom?＋
Loom records to the cloud by default and its meeting notetaker is a server-side bot. KeepCast records locally first — your video stays on your machine, it captures screen, camera, and audio into one MP4, and its meeting auto-record runs on your own desktop with no bot joining the call.
